Grade 8 Chapel

This week at chapel, our grade 8 class challenged us to think about the difference between success and significance. They reminded us that success can often be fleeting and does not necessarily leave a lasting impact. On the other hand, those who live out a life of significance make a difference in the lives of others. It looks like caring for others and making a positive difference. This is the life that Jesus has called us to. He sees us as significant in the world He created and calls us to live a life that is reflected in Him.
At Trinity, we are always looking for ways that we can make a significant difference, whether in the way we serve others in our community and beyond, or in the opportunities we offer to our students. This is evident in the beautiful work that our students create; in the care they show for others; and in the passion they display on the sports field and beyond.

We also want to find new ways to provide a significant alternative to the educational landscape in Burlington. For many years, parents have been faced with the choice of having to pick either Christian education or French education; however, they have not been able to do both simultaneously. We hope to change this by offering a French Immersion program that will begin at the primary level as of next fall. We recognize that learning a second language has many benefits, but is not necessarily for everyone. As a result, we will continue to run our regular program, while also having a French immersion stream.

This is a big undertaking and we want to ensure this is done in a stewardly manner that allows the program to grow organically over the next several years. As a result, this will be for 1 or 2 grade levels within the primary grades to begin. We will then add more groups in subsequent years, as that cohort of students progresses through the lower grades.

We ask that you pray that God will bless this new project and attract new students in the process, so that we can broaden our impact on as many young lives as possible, as we awaken their curiosity, nurture their faith, and inspire them to reflect Jesus everywhere, all for the glory of God. We would also like you to consider who you can approach to share this news. We will provide some additional information in the coming weeks along with some promotional resources to spread the word.

Sincerely,
J-D Lussier, Principal
