Happy New Year
| Dear Parents, Happy New Year! We are glad to be back for the 2nd half of the school year. We trust that the Christmas break proved to be a wonderful time spent with family and loved ones. Additionally, we hope that it provided rest and a good opportunity to reflect on the past year, while looking forward to the year ahead. |
| 2023 was a year in which we experienced many blessings as a school, particularly in the area of our finances. We saw God’s provision firsthand through many new families at Trinity and unexpected generosity that put us in a position to take a leap forward. At the same time, we also had a number of challenges and adversity with many staff and Trinity families experiencing loss and health challenges. Recently in my devotional time, I was reading the story of Isaac in Genesis 26. He saw God’s hand of favour on him and walked in the blessing of his father Abraham. He had rapid increase, which led to the Philistine people pushing them out. From there, he faced contention and quarrelling over wells that he dug, while other nations wanted to claim them for themselves. Rather than continuing to quarrel, he chose the path of peace and lived out a life of integrity. This is what led him to finally find Rehoboth, which means broad space or room to prosper. We know that adversity, trials, and contention will inevitably come, especially when God is choosing to bless us. In those moments, we must choose how we will respond. This morning at chapel, our grade 8 students reminded us that our Integrity is what matters most. We can be tempted to take the easy way out under pressure, but we know that God honours the one who continues in integrity. They illustrated this in the story of Shadrach, Mesach, and Abednego who literally went through fire for their convictions, but ultimately brought glory to God in the process. As we embark on the year ahead, our hope is that we will have the strength of character to persevere in integrity and God will lead us to a place where we can all flourish for his glory.
